Make up: Benefit's Smokey Eye

Today we went to make up session at Macy's. We went to our favourite beauty bar: Benefit. The make over was great, I made before and after pictures. I hope you enjoy them.

You can specially see the difference in my eyes. I also got some fake eye lashes and a smokey eye. They did it with the smokey eye kit, which comes with intructions, so there is nothing to worry about. I got a "light" smokey eye, but you may do it as intense as you like.

Yves Saint Laurent

Yesterday, J and I an Yves Saint Laurent exposition at Fundación Mapfre. The most glamorous and exotic designs are found there. One can find unique dresses from the beginning of his collections (with Dior) to the last one in 2002.

One may visit his around 150 works any day, but the schedules vary. You can check it out here. It is very probable that one might have to wait a little in line, but it is definetly worth it ;)

They say that "Chanel made women free, and Yves Saint Laurent made them powerful". I was very surprised with the collection shown because most of the designs are well... very modern indeed. I mean, if someone wore almost any of his creations, it would not seem as if it was out-dated at all.

Hollister Co.

Hollister Co. offers the young look of Abercrombie and Fitch. I used to love the clothes back in the US. They might be slightly expensive, but the quality definetly pays off. The outside look of the shop calls one's attention... one travels to California.

The inside is quite cozy. One may find some armchairs before the cashier with many surf magazines. It smells like perfume everywhere, I've seen them spray it all around. I don't like the music, it gets too load and becomes a little annoying sometimes.

One of my favorite items is their tanks. There are so many color to choose from and they last long too (about 3 years or so).

The jeans are also great. They really make you look in them, they hug your waist :)

There are different types of jeans: skinny, supper skiny, bootcut...

They also have cute jackets with very nice patterns. This is one of my favorites too :) The flowers on the back look spectacular with a white shirt as you can see on the pics below.

Other handy items are "layer-shirts". You can wear them with a colorful tank underneath and you'll get the layered look. It is very usefull and allows different combinations.

I recommend it. However, I hope they addapt some of their policies in other countries, respecting their culture :)

La mona checa

La mona checa is a cozy second-hand shop located at Velarde Street (Madrid). It is only 2 minutes away from Tribunal's subway station.

It offers an impressive collection of vintage clothes and accessories. Most of them are from London and LA. There is also a small collection of antique cameras. The decoration is all hand made by the owner. Incredible, isn't it? :) For me, the best are Levi's Jeans. They are 25 euros/piece.

Velarde Street has a couple more vintage clothes shops, check them out too!

Kiko cosmetics

I'm more of a "I-just-washed-my-face" type of girl, but I do like nailpolish and mascara.

Last week I bought my new pair of running shoes for this season. And, I also found an outlet for make up. It is called Kiko Make up from Milan. They have really chip nailpolish and the quality is pretty good (no chipping for a week or so!). There so many color: solids, with glitter... I felt like a child in a huge toyshop.

My boyfriend treated me to two nailpolishes. I bought myself another one and an eye-masacara.
I'll let you know how good it is.

Bourjois Anti-Choc No Chips Nail Polish #16

About a month ago, I treated myself to this nail polish: Bourjois Anti-Choc No Chips Nail Polish #16
It has pro-silicium and claims to last 10 days with no touch ups needed.

This glossy coral shade with sunshine glitter is perfect for summer. The brush is angled shaped, it is kind of tricky, but allows a complete coverage of your nail. It also helps to color corners and make touch ups when needed. The consistency is neither too thick  nor too thin.

I've tried it a couple times already and it does last more than normal nail polish.

Does it last 10 days?  That just depends if you usually do the dishes at home or not ;)
